Ding Junhui is by far the most popular man with our customers at the Crucible.

We have revealed the best-backed players to win this year’s World Snooker Championship, following shock exits for Mark Selby and Ronnie O’Sullivan last week.

And it’s new 9/4 favourite Ding who’s running away with things in the popularity charts ahead of Judd Trump (7/1).

That pair are twice as popular as anyone else, with Kyren Wilson (10/1) third in the list, while only 1.6% of all outright bets still standing are for Robert Milkins (200/1).

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Ding will probably never have a better chance of winning the biggest title on the snooker circuit, and punters clearly think this is his year.”

As far as the odds go, however, four-time champion John Higgins is Ding’s most likely challenger at 3/1. Two-time champ Mark Williams is next up at 13/2.
