Bournemouth v Man United tips: Cherries can give visitors more woe

Published:

Tonight’s Premier League action comes from the south coast, where Bournemouth host Manchester United.

In truth there isn’t too much riding on this one. The Cherries are all-but safe, while United will be focusing on the weekend’s FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham Hotspur.

But that could lead to an open game and a far cry from the Red Devils’ dismal 1-0 home loss to West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.

Our traders make Bournemouth 10/3 shots, with United 5/6 and the draw 29/10.

Jose Mourinho’s men have been fallible on the road. They’ve already failed to win at Stoke City, Huddersfield Town and Newcastle United this term.

And with Bournemouth losing just one of their last nine in the league at Dean Court, the home side will be confident of a point or three.

Goals have tended to flow when Man United are on their travels too, as they do when the Cherries are at home.

Six of United’s last 10 league away games have seen both teams find the net. Equally, each of those six games saw over 2.5 goals, and five saw more than 3.5.

Eddie Howe’s Cherries aren’t dull either. They’re the second-highest scorers in the bottom half, while they also own the fourth-leakiest defence.

And both teams have netted in each of the hosts’ last eight home games – all of those saw three goals or more scored too.

There’s 6/10 about both teams to score tonight, and 8/13 for over 2.5 goals. It’s 31/20 for over 3.5 and 18/5 for five goals or more.

Romelu Lukaku is 7/2 favourite to net first, with Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford next up at 9/2.

Callum Wilson is 13/2 to break the deadlock this evening.

And keep an eye out for Joshua King. The Norwegian came through the youth ranks at Old Trafford, going on to make a pair of senior appearances.

The 26-year-old is on six league goals this term, and there’s 8/1 about him scoring first and 13/5 anytime.
