Bayern are Europe’s first league champions, who will be next?

The arrival of spring means there are only a few weeks of the season remaining.

And for many of Europe’s considered ‘big five’ leagues, the league has already been won in all-but-name.

Bayern Munich have already secured the Bundesliga title, with five games to spare.

So who will be next? We run through you the key dates…

Premier League / Man City – 13-point gap & 6 games to go

Pep Guardiola’s Citizens could have wrapped it all up at home to Manchester United on Saturday night, but their defeat means they must wait a little longer.

With Jose Mourinho’s men expected to win their next two games against West Bromwich Albion and Bournemouth, City will probably have to wait until the 22nd of April when they host Swansea City.

But that requires the Blues to have beaten Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley. Fail to do that and City’s title party may have to wait until the 29th when they visit West Ham United.

Likely title dates: 22nd or 29th April.

La Liga / Barcelona – 11-point gap & 7 games to go

Over in Spain and Barcelona are 31 games into a potentially unbeaten season.

Atletico Madrid have tried to keep up, but Diego Simeone’s men just haven’t had the quality of Lionel Messi et al.

Barca have a few weeks to wait before they seal the title, though.  The Catalan path is complicated due to the Copa del Rey, which will give Atletico the chance to close the gap.

But if both teams continue to win, then Barca can wrap it all up in style against Real Madrid in El Clasico on the 5th of May.

Failing that, a home game against Villarreal three days later ought to do it.

Likely title dates: 5th or 8th May.

Ligue 1 / Paris Saint-Germain – 14-point gap & 6 games to go

Paris Saint-Germain have a near-identical record to Man City, and a similar advantage at the top of the standings.

Les Parisiens have been home and dry for some time,  and they’re poised to be the first of Europe’s big five to seal the deal.

Already 14 points clear of Monaco with only 18 on the table, fate has conspired that PSG can win the league if they beat their Principality rivals this Sunday evening.

A draw or a Monaco win would delay the celebrations, but not for long.

PSG can become champions the following week if Monaco fail to beat Guingamp on the Saturday or they beat Bordeaux on the Sunday.

Likely title dates: 15th, 21st or 22nd of April

Serie A / Juventus – 4-point gap & 7 games to go

Serie A has been a one-horse race in recent years, but this season it boasts the toughest title fight of the lot.

Napoli have lead the way for much of the campaign, but they’ve dropped points lately and Juventus have shown no mercy.

Juve are four clear with seven to go, and the two sides meet on the 22nd of April. But that alone won’t decide the league.

But both sides have several tricky games to come. Napoli must still visit AC Milan and Fiorentina, while the Old Lady have to go to Inter Milan and Roma.

Juventus have the edge, but this one run for a while yet.

Likely title dates: 5th or 13th May
