Former Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel is the new favourite to take over from Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.

Reports over the weekend suggested that the 44-year-old has already held talks with Gunners chiefs over the possibility of replacing the Frenchman in North London.

Those rumours have seen the German’s price slashed from 6/1 to just 6/4 to take over from Wenger at the Emirates.

Tuchel had a win percentage of over 60% while at the Westfalenstadion and continued previous manager Jurgen Klopp’s style of gegenpressing with the Bundesliga giants.

In two years with the club, the former centre-half won only one trophy – the DFB Pokal in 2017.

Should he move to the Emirates, he would link-up with former Dortmund chief scout Sven Mislintat, who joined the Gunners in 2017.

However, Tuchel could face competition from former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti.

The Italian chief has been out of work since leaving Bayern Munich earlier in the current campaign and is 12/5 to replace Wenger in the dugout.

Thierry Henry remains the most popular pick with punters at 15/2, while Wenger himself remains at 1/5 to not be in charge on the opening day of next season.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Tuchel’s chances of taking over at Arsenal have never been greater and according to our traders, he could be in charge as early as this summer.”
