PL Darts Tips: Draws galore, Anderson on a roll and a 14/1 acca

The Premier League returns for the first time since Berlin this evening following an enforced two-week lay-off due to snow.

Michael Smith remains top of the table after his defeat of Simon Whitlock in Germany. He faces world champion Rob Cross tonight in the final game of the evening.

Elsewhere, Michael van Gerwen and Peter Wright will be looking to return to winning ways after disappointing performances in the UK Open over the weekend.

After tipping up a 10/1 accumulator in Germany two weeks ago, we’ve found another 14/1 oche acca for this week alongside previews for every game as the road show heads to Leeds…

Michael van Gerwen to beat Simon Whitlock

MVG didn’t have a great time of things at the UK Open. The Green Machine was beaten 10-8 in the third round by countryman Jeffrey de Zwaan.

It was an out of character defeat for the Dutchman, who has been in excellent form in the Premier League. He boasts the competition’s highest checkout percentage and a nine-point advantage in terms of overall average compared to Whitlock.

Van Gerwen has won his last nine in a row against the Aussie and is 1/7 to extend that tonight.

It’s 10/3 that he secures a dominant 7-2 victory, while you can get even-money about MVG hitting Over 3.5 180s.

Raymond van Barneveld to beat Gerwyn Price

Both of these players have endured a disappointing start to the 2018 Premier League. Gerwyn Price remains winless after four matches, while Raymond van Barneveld hasn’t picked up a full quota of points since week two.

There’s not a lot to separate the two where stats are concerned either. Barney has chalked up one more 180 than Price but has a lower checkout percentage.

However, the Dutchman will relish the 11,000 strong crowd in Leeds. And that could drive him on to victory. It’s even-money that he picks up a fifth win in six matches against the Iceman.

Price has lost two of his four matches by a 3-7 scoreline. It’s 6/1 for a repeat tonight. You can get 5/1 on Barneveld to be King of the Oche.

Peter Wright v Mensur Suljovic – Draw

Mensur Suljovic shrugged off a run of three successive defeats to pick up a first Premier League win in Berlin a fortnight ago. The Austrian has impressed in his first season at this level and has been unlucky not to pick up more than just a single victory.

Against Wright, who has drawn two of his four matches, Suljovic should be able to claim a point. It’s 7/2 for the match to finish in a 6-6 draw.

These two have only hit 17 180s between them in a combined eight matches. You can back Under 4.5 180s in this one at 11/10.

Gary Anderson to beat Daryl Gurney

Fresh from victory in the UK Open final on Sunday, Gary Anderson is expected to justify favouritism at 8/15 against Daryl Gurney.

The Scotsman has overcome the back problems which blighted him during the early weeks of the season and now appears to be back to his old self.

Anderson has recorded averages of 105 and 110 in the last two weeks and has a joint-Premier League-high 17 180s to his name so far – the same as Gurney.

With a high-scoring contest expected, you can back Over 7.5 180s at 11/10. A First Leg 180 is also available at 4/5.

Rob Cross v Michael Smith – Draw

Two of darts’ most exciting young talents go head-to-head in the final game of the evening.

Both players are in excellent form, with Smith the surprise early leader of the Premier League.

Bully Boy has proved invincible thus far but should find things tougher against the fast-improving Cross. It’s 10/3 that the pair level out with a 6-6 draw.

The duo have been responsible for 22 180s in their respective matches so far. It’s 4/6 for there to be Over 6.5 maximums this evening.

This week’s Oche Acca is van Gerwen, Barneveld and Anderson to win and Wright v Suljovic to finish in a draw. The four-timer pays 14/1.
