Napoli join race for Arsenal’s potential Cech replacement

Bernd Leno odds

Arsenal and Napoli are both reportedly chasing Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

The Gunners will need to bring in a new goalkeeper sooner rather than later. Petr Cech is a Premier League legend but he’s 35-years-old now. Napoli’s Pepe Reina is expected to join AC Milan on a free transfer in the summer.

Our traders have Arsenal at 7/2 to bring him in. He’s not the only goalkeeper on Arsenal’s radar though.

The Gunners are also 5/2 to bring in Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak. Stoke City’s Jack Butland is 4/1 to move to the Emirates. And Wojciech Szczesny is 5/1 to return to the club this summer.

Leno has been a key player for Leverkusen since arriving in 2011. However, he could be available for around £25m at the end of the season.

That could prove to be money well spent. Leno’s been very consistent during his time at Leverkusen and should have his best years ahead of him.

He’s also got Champions League and international experience. He helped Germany to win the Confederations Cup last year. The Leverkusen vice-captain is expected to part of Joachim Low’s World Cup squad too.
