Man City v Chelsea: Chelsea will find it tough stopping City’s march

Man City betting news

Sunday sees a huge clash at the Etihad Stadium as table-toppers Manchester City host Chelsea.

Pep Guardiola’s insatiable City side are coming off two big wins over Arsenal. While Chelsea now lie just outside the top four, two points off Tottenham Hotspur.

City are 8/13 favourites, with Chelsea 21/5, and the Draw at 3/1.

This game is as difficult as it gets domestically for Antonio Conte. The Blues were beaten 2-1 at Manchester United last weekend and won’t have it any easier this time around.

However, they will have had an extra few days’ rest over Guardiola’s charges. The Citizens dismantled the Gunners 3-0 in midweek again. That was just five days after beating the London outfit to the Carabao Cup by the same score.

City are buzzing right now. But Chelsea will put up more resistance than the Gunners did. And Guardiola will probably be without Fernandinho in midfield again.

Barring the Brazilian’s absence, neither side have any major injuries worries to contend with.

Goals should be on the menu at Eastlands. 93% of City’s home league games have seen over 2.5 goals land. While 71% of Chelsea’s away games this term have had three or more goals.

Over 2.5 Goals is 4/6. While Over 3.5 Goals is 8/5. Both teams to score is also backable at 4/6.

Sergio Aguero should start up front for City, despite Gabriel Jesus’ return from injury. The Argentine ace has scored 11 goals in his last 10 games. He’s 16/5 to score first and 21/20 to find the net Anytime.

For Chelsea, Conte will have to decide between playing one of Alvaro Morata or Olivier Giroud up top in front of Eden Hazard.

But it’s the Belgian star Conte will be depending on. If Chelsea’s midfield can get the ball to Hazard in the space Ilkay Gundogan is likely to occupy in defensive midfield, the Blues could thrive.

Hazard is 5/2 to score Anytime. He’s also 15/2 to be First Goalscorer.

When it comes to the top-six, Chelsea have found the net away against Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester United. But they’ve won just one of those games.

City have conceded at home to Spurs and Arsenal, with only ten-men Liverpool failing to score. The Manchester side have won each game.

Manchester City to win with Both Teams To Score is 21/10.
