Three Billboards new even-money favourite for Best Picture Oscar

| 20.02.2018

Following its triumph at the Baftas, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri is the new favourite to land the Best Picture Oscar.

Our trading team make it Evens for Three Billboards to scoop the gong, following its three Bafta titles – including Best Film and Leading Actress.

Martin McDonagh’s film is now narrow favourite ahead of The Shape of Water, which is priced at 6/4 to win Best Picture.

Lady Bird is next best at 12/1, while the groundbreaking Get Out is 16s for the Gong.

In the Best Actor category, Gary Oldman is just 1/20 for glory following his performance as Wilston Churchill in Darkest Hour.

The Best Actress gong also has a firm favourite, with Frances McDormand 1/10 to win the prize for her performance in Three Billboards.

Meanwhile, it’s Guillermo del Toro at 1/7 who leads the Best Director market for The Shape of Water. He’s followed by Dunkirk Director Christopher Nolan at 4/1.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “The Best Picture market at the Oscars is an incredibly tight two-horse race, but after its Bafta win, we’re inclined to think Three Billboards will land the big one in Hollywood.”
