Swansea v Sheffield Wednesday: Swans to make FA Cup progress

Swansea City host Sheffield Wednesday in an FA Cup fifth round replay at the Liberty Stadium tonight.
The Swans are coming off the back of a 4-1 defeat at Brighton and Hove Albion. While Wednesday suffered their own bad reverse at home to Aston Villa, losing 4-2.
Swansea are 3/4, Wednesday are 4/1, and the draw is 12/5.
Both sides have pressing concerns in their respective leagues. Swansea drop back into the bottom three, while Wednesday are just seven clear of the Championship relegation zone.
An FA Cup replay will be the last thing these two need, but Carlos Carvalhal will still want to get one over on his former employers.
The Portuguese tactician had started brilliantly at the Liberty. But his side have hit a little blip, drawing and losing in their last two games.
However, those were on the road. The Swans will be glad to get back on home turf having won five in a row in all competitions in South Wales.
Jos Luhukay’s Wednesday outfit haven’t been victorious in an away game in six. In fact, the Owls have won just three away games all season.
They drew with Carlisle United in the third round at Brunton Park before winning in the replay at Hillsborough.
Swansea have progressed in both FA Cup games at the Liberty while seeing both teams scoring. That is 17/5 in tonight’s game.
Both squads have serious injury concerns to deal with, particularly Wednesday. The Owls are likely to be without up to nine first team regulars.
That list includes the likes of Jordan Rhodes, Fernando Forestieri, Kieran Westwood, and Barry Bannan. Among others, Swansea will be without Wilfried Bony, Andre Ayew, Leroy Fer, and Renato Sanches.
The Welsh side should still have too much quality here, though. Tammy Abraham scored a brace in the previous round against Notts County. The England striker is 10/3 to be First Goalscorer.
For Wednesday, Adam Reach was excellent in the defeat to Villa last weekend. The midfielder set up the Owls’ second goal and got into some very dangerous positions throughout the game.
The 25-year-old is 4/1 Anytime and 12/1 to hit the back of the net first.
