League and cup vie for our attentions and accumulators this weekend.

It’s fifth round time in the FA Cup, while there’s a steady stream of football league action to enjoy too.

The Ladbrokes News team are on hand to bring you their top tips for Saturday’s games, and there’s plenty of value to be found.

Here’s this week’s selections…

Richard Marsh

Southend United to beat Portsmouth

Southend are putting together a handy run at just the right time, while Portsmouth are beginning to slide.

The Shrimpers are only nine points outside the play-offs, thanks to ten points from their last four games. That included a superb 3-1 win over promotion-chasers Wigan Athletic.

So they’re a great shout at 2/1 to win at home to a Pompey side whose own play-off hopes are fading. The 2008 FA Cup winners have won just one of their last seven league games.

Cian Carroll

Fulham to beat Aston Villa

Villa are on a terrific run at present winning their last seven league games in a row. But all good things must come to an end eventually, and Fulham are on their own great run.

Steve Bruce has big doubts over Albert Adomah and Jack Grealish and those two are fundamental to this Villa outfit.

Slavisa Jokanovic’s side destroyed this Villa side at Craven Cottage last season. It’ll be closer this time but the Cottagers edging it at 23/20 looks decent.

Dave Burin

Swindon Town to beat Port Vale

The Robins have shaken off their iffy home record, winning their last four games at the County Ground. In the process, they’ve kept three clean sheets.

Their visitors are a Vale side who’ve taken a single point from their last five on the road, and suffered a 5-1 pasting at lowly Cheltenham Town last weekend.

Add in the fact the Robins won 3-0 at Vale Park in the reverse fixture, and a Swindon win looks good value at Evens.

Dan Anwar

Brentford to beat Sunderland

It’s been a bleak season for Sunderland fans so far. They’ve only seen two wins at the Stadium of Light.

And they aren’t likely to have much to smile about when Brentford visit this weekend.

The Bees look good to take the three points at 23/20, even without Lasse Vibe.

Dean Smith’s side have an outside chance of securing a play-off spot. A win here would help them stay in the hunt.

Miguel Assuncao

Southampton to beat West Brom

An inconsistent Southampton side travel to the Hawthorns looking for their second win in two weeks over Alan Pardew’s men.

The Saints edged out 3-2 winners in the league earlier this month and with the Baggies having lost their last three – conceding nine in the process – 13/8 looks decent value on an away win.

So there we go. This weekend’s five-fold is available at 75/1!
