Europa League tips: Atalanta victory, goals at Ostersunds & more
Published:The Europa League knockout stages are in full swing tonight, with 32 sides from across the continent looking to claim some silverware – and a spot in next season’s Champions League.
We’ve taken a look at four of the evening’s biggest clashes, to give you all the top tips as some of Europe’s biggest clubs do battle…
Borussia Dortmund v Atalanta
The Serie A outfit have cemented a reputation as away-day specialists this term. Atalanta have enjoyed six wins and two draws in the last eight on their travels – including victories at Napoli, Roma and AC Milan.
They visit a Dortmund side who’ve won just three of their last 12 at home. Atalanta to Win at 16/5 looks good value, while the Double Chance: Atalanta or Draw seems a safe call at Evens.
Two of the last three games for La Dea have seen both sides net after the break. Both Teams to Score in Second Half is 9/5. Meanwhile, it’s 33/20 we see Over 3.5 Goals across the 90 minutes.
FC Copenhagen v Atletico Madrid
Atleti are a winning machine at present. They’ve won their last three games without conceding. Having outscored their opponents after the break in two of those, we like Second Half Result: Atletico at 20/23.
Antoine Griezmann has scored in four of his last five outings, and is 13/10 to Score Anytime.
With the visitors so solid and Copenhagen languishing in fourth in the Superliga, we like the visitors to Win to Nil is 11/10. If you fancy, a lively longshot, Atletico to win 3-0 at 9/1 could be popular, following a trio of 3-0 wins since late-November.
Napoli v RB Leipzig
Maurizio Sarri’s men have won nine of their last ten games, and face a Leipzig side struggling on their travels. Die Bullen have lost two of their last four away from home, including a 4-0 pasting at Hoffenheim.
Napoli to Win looks likely at 19/20, but we think the handicap could be a better shout. The Serie A table-toppers have won four of their last five games by a two-goal margin, so Napoli -1 at 27/10 could prove popular.
Spanish ace Jose Callejon has found the net in two of the club’s last three at Stadio San Paolo, and is 13/8 to Score Anytime.
Ostersunds v Arsenal
For most fans on these shores, the Swedes are an unknown quantity. But this won’t be a cakewalk for the Gunners. Ostersunds have won four of their previous five at home, with the other a 2-2 draw with Spanish heavyweights Athletic Bilbao.
Both sides are high-scoring but prone to leaking a few goals. Five of Arsenal’s last six games have produced three or more goals, while it’s four of five for Graham Potter’s hosts.
Over 2.5 Goals looks a safe call at 8/11, while Both Teams to Score is available at 10/11. In the Goalscorer markets, we think Nacho Monreal to Score Anytime at 7/1 is tasty, having registered in two of his last five games.
