Champions League Best Bets: High-scoring wins for Liverpool and PSG

The Champions League continues on Wednesday with two ties featuring four of European football’s biggest names.

Real Madrid will host Paris Saint-Germain at the Bernabeu while Liverpool head to Portugal to take on Porto.

We’ve picked out the best bets from both games ahead of Wednesday’s ties…

FC Porto v Liverpool

These sides have been scoring goals for fun in this season’s competition. Porto bagged 15 in the group stages with Liverpool racking up an even more impressive 23.

Both managers only know how to play one way. So that should lend itself to another end-to-end contest. Both Teams to Score – Yes, makes appeal at 4/7.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will be buoyed by their recent three-game unbeaten run. That form has been in large part down to the impressive performances of Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian attacker has scored five goals in his last four matches. He’s 4/1 to Score First, while it’s 13/2 that he bags a brace for the sixth time since October.

And with Liverpool’s attacking prowess there for all to see, it could also be worth backing the Reds to Win and Over 3.5 Goals at 19/4.

The Premier League side have also developed a habit of hitting the front early on of late. The Merseysiders have netted in the sixth, third and fifth minute in their last four matches.

It’s 11/2 about Klopp’s charges having the lead after 15 minutes in this one.

Real Madrid v Paris Saint Germain

On recent form, this match looks like a nailed on away win. PSG have won 14 out of their last 15 in all competitions, including their last six in a row.

Real Madrid, by contrast, have picked up just two victories from their last six home matches to leave manager Zinedine Zidane on the brink of the sack.

That makes the visitors a more than enticing proposition at 7/4. And with goals expected, it could be worth doubling up on that market with PSG to Win and Both Teams to Score at 3/1.

Neymar is the most likely scorer at 11/10, with Cristiano Ronaldo priced slightly longer for Los Blancos at 23/20.

It’s also worth noting that both teams like to start fast. Real have bagged seven first-half goals in their last three games. For PSG that extends to eight in their last six first-half performances.

Over 2.5 First-Half Goals provides the value bet of the tie at 17/4.
