Why Aaron Lennon is the ideal signing for Sean Dyche and Burnley

Burnley could hardly have made a better signing this January than Aaron Lennon.
The 30-year-old has joined the Clarets on a three-year-deal after three seasons with Everton.
Lennon never truly got the rub of the green on Merseyside, often through no fault of his own.
At Turf Moor he has the potential to command a regular starting berth for the first time in a number of years.
His acquisition is a canny one by Sean Dyche.
The winger exhibits all of the qualities desired by the straight-talking Clarets chief. He’s committed, has buckets of desire and crucially for the Lancashire outfit has pace.
For all of Burnley’s fantastic performances this season, the one area they still lack is going forward.
The Turf Moor club are the lowest-scorers in the top-half of the Premier League with just 19 goals to their name so far this season.
They’re also yet to be awarded a penalty in the top-flight this campaign.
In Sam Vokes and Chris Wood, they have two big, strong strikers who are capable of putting the ball in the back net.
And with Lennon now on board, they also have a potential supply line.
The winger’s pace will cause nightmares in a league where top-quality defenders remain in short-supply.
He has the quality to take on players one-on-one and cause disruption to disorganised backlines.
That disruption opens up space which Lennon and his teammates have the ability to exploit.
With quality all around him in the form of Jeff Hendrick, Ashley Barnes and Robbie Brady (currently injured), the Clarets have the basis of a functional yet exciting front six.
All four players offer different qualities which should make Burnley a difficult side to defend against.
What’s more, Lennon is also a willing worker.
He’ll have no qualms about tracking back and helping his teammates out.
That will be crucial for Dyche, who is the perfect manager to get the best out of Lennon.
The Burnley boss has shown time and time again that he is a man who can get the best out of seemingly limited players.
In Lennon, the Lancashire outfit look to have made a very astute purchase.
The Clarets visit Newcastle United a week on Tuesday and are 27/10 to collect all three points.
