Premier League Picks: Burnley, Newcastle & Watford among best bets
Another busy afternoon of Premier League football kicks into gear on Saturday with seven games across the day.
Tottenham Hotspur host Everton in the evening kick-off. But we’re concentrating on the six 3pm kick-offs and the best bets to get involved in.
Without further ado…
Chelsea v Leicester City
Expect goals in this game. Both teams have found the back of the net in seven of the last 10 meetings. And eight of them have seen Over 2.5 Goals land.
Chelsea are in good form and have beaten the Foxes at Stamford Bridge on six of the last seven occasions.
Antonio Conte’s side looked a little leggy in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Arsenal in midweek. The Italian may rotate a little here.
Crystal Palace v Burnley
Palace have been in good form since Roy Hodgson took the reins at Selhurst Park. But they suffered a late FA Cup defeat to rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in midweek.
It’s possible the Eagles may have lost some of their momentum coming into this game. Burnley are 3/1 to win this and that’s typical of how the Clarets have been so underrated this season.
Sean Dyche’s side have lost just two of their 11 league away games this season, winning four of them. Little seems to faze this Burnley outfit.
Huddersfield Town v West Ham United
This looks as even a game as they come in the Premier League. West Ham have been in better form than the Terriers over the last handful of games, however.
David Moyes’ side have lost just once in their last six games with David Wagner’s Terriers failing to win since December 16 away to Watford.
This looks a draw all day long and you can back it at 2/1.
Newcastle United v Swansea City
Carlos Carvalhal has a serious job on his hands at Swansea. Not just to keep them up, but to get anything from this game at St. James’ Park.
Rafa Benitez will be targeting this game as a must-win for his Magpies side. There’s little between the two sides in terms of quality, but Newcastle will have the home crowd roaring them on.
The 10/11 on Benitez’s outfit to win is a little short but worth backing considering what’s at stake.
Watford v Southampton
What a strange side Watford have proven to be this season. The Hornets began the campaign superbly but have faltered badly in the last number of weeks.
However, Marco Silva’s side are still worthy of backing in this one at 7/5 considering Southampton’s awful away form.
The Saints haven’t won away in the league since mid-September. Both sides will be going for it at Vicarage Road so there could be goals. Over 2.5 is 10/11 and Watford to win and Over 2.5 Goals is 29/10.
West Bromwich Albion v Brighton (& Hove Albion)
The two Albions clash at the Hawthorns in another of those ‘must-win’ games – at least for West Brom.
Alan Pardew’s side are four points adrift of safety and haven’t won since August. Brighton have lost seven of their 11 away games in the league this term.
The Seagulls have won two and bagged two draws. This one should be tight with a lot at stake. Under 1.5 Goals is 27/20.
