Jack Wilshere is now an odds-on chance to make England’s World Cup squad this summer.

Our traders go 4/5 that the Arsenal man will be included in Gareth Southgate’s 23-man roster.

Back in December the midfielder was as long as 11/4.

An impressive run of games has catapulted the 26-year-old back into contention at exactly the right time.

He is now ahead of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Jake Livermore in the betting, both of whom featured in the last round of international fixtures.

That drop in odds means that Wilshere is now considered the most likely Arsenal player to get an England call-up.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Wilshere ticks a lot of boxes for the national side and since becoming a regular in Arsenal’s Premier League starting XIs again his odds have continued to fall, meaning he now looks more likely than ever to represent his country in Russia this year.”
