Hearts v Hibernian: Hibees can dominate Edinburgh derby again

Hibs betting news

Amongst a raft of intriguing Scottish Cup ties, the pick of the bunch could well be Sunday’s Edinburgh derby – as Heart of Midlothian host Hibernian.

It’s Hibs who have claimed the bragging rights time and again in recent years. The Leith club are unbeaten in nine meetings with their city rivals, winning four of those.

Ahead of this game, the visitors also have the benefit of Hearts’ star man being suspended. Kyle Lafferty has scored seven of their 21 Prem goals this term, but will be absent at Tynecastle.

That means Hibs at 29/20 looks the value in the Match Betting, with 19/10 about the Draw and a Jam Tarts win at 15/8.

Especially so with Hearts having failed to score – let alone win – in their last three games.

With that in mind, we reckon Hibs to Win to Nil could be a very savvy bet at 29/10.

Young forward Oliver Shaw has scored in three of the Cabbage’s last six games, including grabbing a goal against Celtic.

He’s 9/4 to Net Anytime, but having closed the scoring in all of those three games, we prefer him as Last Goalscorer at 11/2.

In each of their last two victories, Neil Lennon’s men have been level at the interval. That means Half-Time/Full-Time: Draw/Hibernian may be fancied at 5/1.

Interestingly, the visitors have scored their first goal of the game between the 21st and 30th minute in six matches so far this season – including two of the last three.

While it’s not the most obvious market, we think Time of 1st Hibernian Goal: 21-30 could be a very savvy call at 8/1.
