Harman, Spieth and Thomas likely contenders for Sony Open in Hawaii

After a three-week break during the festive period, the PGA Tour season swung back into life last weekend – and is ready to go again at the Sony Open.
Dustin Johnson won the Sentry Tournament of Champions in 2018’s opener, but the world number one isn’t in action this week, so Jordan Spieth assumes favouritism in Honolulu.
The 24-year-old was ninth last time out, 12 shots behind DJ, in a steady start to the year.
Spieth is 9/2 favourite to win around the Waialae Country Club, and was third at this event 12 months ago.
Plenty will be looking just behind him in the market however, to Justin Thomas at 7/1.
The reigning champion hit headlines last year with a stunning first round of 59 – a PGA record.
He went on to set tournament records at 18, 36 and 54 holes, before wrapping it all up in a Sony Open and PGA Tour best of 253.
The American was a steady T22 last time out, but a final round of 67 impressed. Should he continue that form and repeat his performance from last year then the 7/1 will quickly tumble.
While Thomas laboured early on last week, Brian Harman came flying out of the blocks.
The 30-year-old opened with a 68/68/69 to rival eventual winner Dustin Johnson.
He eventually finished third, continuing a strong start to the new season in the Autumn.
So far Harman has failed to finish lower than eight on Tour this term, with four top-five finishes already.
There’s plenty of value in the man from Georgia at 20/1.
