Graham Norton is the early favourite to take over the BAFTA film awards hosting duties from Stephen Fry.

Fry has hosted the awards 12 times but has stepped down this year.

Norton leads the betting at 5/4, closely followed by fellow BBC host Claudia Winkleman at 2/1.

Jonathan Ross is another contender, having hosted from 2007 to 2011. Our traders have him at 4/1.

Ricky Gervais’ Golden Globes hosting experience puts him in the frame too. The comedian is a 5/1 shot to get the gig.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “It’s a tight betting heat as there doesn’t appear to be an obvious candidate to replace Fry, however it’s Norton who’s fancied ahead of Winkleman to land the leading role.”
