Anthony Joshua could become the first British boxer to receive a knighthood since Henry Cooper in 2000, according to our odds.

The heavyweight star has recently spoken about his chances of becoming a knight and is now just 4/1 to receive the top gong in either of the next two Honours’ list.

Joshua was made an MBE in 2013 for services to boxing.

However, only one boxer has ever been knighted – Cooper in 2000.

Cooper also won BBC Sports Personality of the Year twice in his distinguished career.

AJ finished outside of the top-three in last year’s event but is 4/1 to be named the 2018 SPOTY winner.

Meanwhile, it’s 1/12 that he beats Joshua Parker in March, with 4/1 saying that he fights Tyson Fury at some point in 2018.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “AJ continues to take the boxing world by storm and as far as we’re concerned, it won’t be long before he rightfully receives even more Royal recognition.”
