Swansea City may be sitting bottom of the Premier League, but centre-back Alfie Mawson has remained a bright spot for the managerless club.

However, the relegation-threatened Swans could soon be forced to say goodbye to the 23-year-old, with West Ham United heading the list of interested clubs.

The Irons are 6/4 to be the London native’s next club, with boss David Moyes keen to strengthen the division’s third-leakiest defence.

However, they’re far from the only club believed to be keen on Mawson.

Everton are 4/1 to add the England Under-21 international to their ranks, while the Hammers’ capital rivals Crystal Palace are third-favourites at 5/1.

Arsenal are dark horses to snap up the former Wycombe Wanderers man at odds of 6/1, while Liverpool (10/1) and Huddersfield (16/1) round out the betting.

Considering Mawson’s displays, it’s no surprise to see so many clubs interested.

A solid presence at the heart of defence, he’s also a classy passer of the ball and a threat in front of goal.

His 23 goals in 174 senior appearances is a record many midfielders would be proud of.

But it’s Mawson’s assured displays at the heart of defence which have made him such a valuable performer at club level. And he proved his international pedigree in the summer, playing every minute of England’s Under-21 Championship campaign.

Reports suggest the Swans are looking for £20m in exchange for the defender’s services. But with the youngster continuing to go from strength to strength, that could be money very well spent.
