Premier League Picks: Arsenal and Chelsea among the best bets

It’s a busy one this Saturday, with seven Premier League games to enjoy.

The big match is the evening clash between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

Here, we’re focusing on the other six encounters and where the best bets may lie.

Le’s crack on, starting with the lunch-time fixture…

Leicester v Crystal Palace

Leicester have bagged four wins on the spin, and are going superbly under Claude Puel.

Palace are greatly improved since Roy Hodgson took over – they’re unbeaten in six, but the Foxes should edge this.

Riyad Mahrez is on-song again and a home win looks good at 5/6, although Leicester to win and both teams to score is the one at 14/5.

Arsenal v Newcastle United

Wins over Tottenham, Burnley and Huddersfield left Arsenal fans thinking they had turned a corner.

But the Gunners are winless in three after a sloppy fortnight. They couldn’t break down either Southampton or West Ham United.

They’re better at the Emirates though, and should have plenty in hand against a sinking Newcastle.

The 1/4 on an Arsenal win doesn’t appeal, but with the Magpies failing to net seven times already this term, the Gunners look better winning to nil at 11/10.

Brighton v Burnley

Burnley are everybody’s favourite team right now. The Clarets are only outside of the top four on goal difference.

Brighton are struggling after a solid start to life in the Premier League. The Seagulls have collected one point from five, failing to score in four of those.

This won’t be a goal-fest, as both teams like to keep things tight. Under 2.5 goals is odds-on at 4/9, but it’s the under 1.5 goals which has caught our eye at 7/5.

Chelsea v Southampton

Chelsea have won their last four games at Stamford Bridge.

They should make that five with Southampton now winless in four. The Saints have also won just one away game this season.

But Antonio Conte’s men have taken their time at home, with five of their eight games being all-square at the interval. That leads us to Draw/Chelsea in the Half-Time/Full-Time at 29/10.

Stoke City v West Ham

Few people expected West Ham United to take four points off Chelsea and Arsenal.

But they did and they look much better under David Moyes.

The Hammers are on the up, while hosts Stoke are the opposite. The Potters have failed to win six of their last seven, and now boast the league’s worst defence.

West Ham’s revival can continue in Staffordshire with a win at a tidy 23/10.

 Watford v Huddersfield

Watford are the most inconsistent team in the Premier League. They could have beaten Liverpool and Chelsea, and did beat Arsenal.

On the flip side, they have lost to Stoke and Crystal Palace, and are winless in four.

That said, visitors Huddersfield have lost five of their last six, conceding two or more in every defeat.

Watford have quality up front, and they’re 15/8 to win with over 2.5 goals.
