Our man Dan Skelton discusses his Saturday runners

Starting with the 11:50 at Haydock, we’re running Away For Slates. He just got beat last time at Wetherby but wasn’t beaten very far.

He takes on the same horse here which got the better of him on his last run in Becky The Thatcher.

He is going to be competitive and hopefully, he can go one place better this time around.

Born Survivor runs in the 12:25 at Haydock. He is a good horse who won nicely on his first run of the season at Wetherby.

On his last start, he finished third in a graduation chase at Haydock on real soft ground.

He is taking on Clyne here with a penalty which won’t be easy but it is a small field so we are hopeful.

We’re finishing up for the day with Molly The Dolly in the 13:00 at Haydock.

She is a real nice mare. She won well for us at Warwick first time out.

We settled on this race as we knew there would be a small field. We are happy to take our chance and see how we get on.

She is more of a chaser than a hurdler but she is a mare we rate really highly.

We have had a fantastic season and we are really looking forward to Christmas Day. We will then have five or six days of solid racing.

The yard is absolutely buzzing at the moment. We have a lot of runners every day so we are always at it.

It is a great atmosphere though and a pleasure to be a part of it. We are hoping we can keep it up in 2018.

We will probably do four meetings on Boxing Day in what is obviously one of the busiest days of the year.

Dan.
