Odds of 2018 General Election slashed to just 2/1

The odds of the next General Election taking place in 2018 have been slashed by our traders.

Debate over the future of the Irish border has seen the odds cut to 2/1 for an election next year.

After surprising many pundits in this year’s election, the Labour party are tipped to win the most seats at 4/5.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn is 5/2 to replace Theresa May as the next PM.

But it looks like we could have another hung parliament. It’s 6/4 for there to be no overall majority in the next election.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “The DUP could make life very tough for Theresa May, and punters reckon their stance on the Irish border means another General Election is on the cards sooner rather than later.”
