Liverpool youngster Ben Woodburn is a January target for a trio of Premier League and Championship clubs.

Leeds United, Sunderland and Huddersfield Town are all believed to be interested in the Wales international.

The 18-year-old has played just once for the Reds so far this season and will be allowed to leave Anfield on loan to continue his development.

Elland Road currently appears to be his most likely destination as Whites boss Thomas Christiansen looks to bolster his side’s promotion bid.

The Yorkshire outfit play a style of football which would suit the attack-minded Woodburn, who has scored once for Wales.

But it’s that international experience that could give Sunderland an advantage in the race for Chester-born ace’s signature.

The Black Cats are managed by former Wales boss Chris Coleman.

All six of Woodburn’s caps at international level have been given to him by the ex-Fulham boss.

That link could go a long way to securing the youngster’s services on Wearside until the end of the season.

Premier League outfit Huddersfield are also rumoured to be monitoring the forward’s situation, although Leeds remain the frontrunners.
