The January transfer window is almost open.

Clubs have 31 days to do their business and strengthen their respective squads ahead of a final push to the end of the season.

We’re taking a look at what all 20 Premier League sides could be after in the January sales.

And Manchester City are next up…

What they need

City may be top of the league but they can still improve.

An extra left-back and another centre-half would add depth as the Citizens attempt to go deep in competitions at home and in Europe.

Pep Guardiola could also be in the market for annother defensive midfielder.

Who they’re targeting

The Citizens are expected to go back in with another bid for Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez.

Guardiola almost got his man in August but was thwarted on Deadline Day.

Lyon centre-half Mouctar Diakhaby has also been linked with a mega-money move from Lyon, as has West Bromwich Albion centre-half Jonny Evans.

Young striker Jesus Medina is expected to join from Club Libertad in Paraguay.

Who they might lose

It seems unlikely that there will be any significant departures.

Sergio Aguero is a target for Real Madrid, but City don’t want to sell the Argentine this season.

It should be a case of as you were for the Manchester club.

Final thought

Guardiola will likely strengthen his squad to further increase City’s grip on the Premier League.

The extra strength in depth should enable them to go further in Europe, too.

With the funds that the Sky Blues have available to them, no one is out of bounds this January.
