Ed Sheeran shortest price yet for Christmas number one

Ed Sheeran looks a shoo-in for this year’s Christmas number one spot, according to our entertainment traders.

The chart-topper is now just 1/4 for the festive number one position (either as a solo artist or as a duet) – his shortest price yet.

His track with Beyonce has been giving fans goosebumps since its release.

Wham! are second favourites at 5/1 ahead of Adele while every other runner is currently 10/1 or bigger – including X Factor winners, Rak-Su at 16/1.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “After collaborating with Beyonce, Andrea Bocelli and Eminem – as well as covering The Pogues – it’s safe to say the Christmas number one spot is something Ed Sheeran is chasing. And the latest odds are suggesting the timing of these releases has been Perfect.”
