Dan Skelton talks us through his weekend runners at Sandown and Wetherby

Starting with Sandown, I run Whatduhavetoget in the 12.40. It’s a good job Harry Fry’s horse Secret Door runs, otherwise we would get loads and loads of weight.

She’s got 12st1 anyway which is plenty. She obviously fell last time and we want to get her back on track.

She is a good mare, and she can be competitive in this but she needs to get a clear round firstly. I should imagine we will go back chasing soon enough.

Sam Red runs in the 13.10. It’s not very nice having two on the card that fell last time but that’s how it is and despite only running last week I felt we should get him back out ASAP to help him rebuild.

I fancied him for the Rehearsal Chase a bit last week and he was on an upward curve so it would be no surprise to see him run well.

North Hill Harvey is next up in the 13.45. We do fancy him and he can win but it’s just such a good race. I hope he’s our first grade one winner. He’s ready for this and he jumps well.

He’s been to Cheltenham twice so no excuses there but this is like the Arkle, it’s a very good contest!

At Wetherby, I run Knight in Dubai in the 11.45. He is a lot better than his finishing position suggested in a bumper recently.

I probably shouldn’t have run him in a bumper but I learnt a lot about him that day. He wants this type of trip and this type of track. He’ll run a lot better here.

I think Classico Dais will go very close in the 12.45. He wants this type of track and he’s getting the hang of it more and more every time.

I go to Huntingdon on Sunday and run Café Au Lait in the 12.25. He’s new to us so I don’t know a lot about him other than he should stay the trip and he jumps well. It’s a starting point for him this season.

I really like Destrier and he runs in the 12.55. He ran in a bumper at Kempton last year and ran desperate when we really fancied him.

He put it right at Leicester, which was our 100th winner of the season a couple of weeks ago.

I’d say if Western Ryder wasn’t in the race he would have the leading chance but Western Ryder is very good so it’s a deep race for him.

The track and ground will be fine, there will be no excuses for him there but this is a step up for him.

Work In Progress – 13:25 – jumped the fence fine at Southwell and then just tripped over last time.

He can be competitive in this race. On handicap marks he’s not weighted to win it but he’s weighted to go close. Ignore what happened the other day.

One For Billy is in the 14.00. He won his last start at Warwick where he showed a good attitude and really battled on well over two miles.

This race is worth twenty grand so I thought we’d have a go at this rather than a six or seven grand race. He should run well.
