Burnley and Leicester can upset the odds in Saturday’s Prem picks

Published:

There’s a feast of Premier League football to enjoy on Saturday as the top-flight gears up for a hectic Christmas period.

In the pick of the games, Everton host Chelsea, West Ham United face Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur travel to Burnley and Leicester City play Manchester United.

We’ve put together our pick of the bets from those games on a busy day of action…

Everton v Chelsea

Sam Allardyce is slowly whipping Everton into shape.

The Toffees are unbeaten since the arrival of Big Sam and could make life difficult for Antonio Conte and co.

Everton or Draw makes appeal in the Double Chance market at 5/4.

Part of the Blues’ good recent form has been down to the performances of Wayne Rooney.

He’s bagged three in four since Allardyce’s arrival and is 13/5 to continue that run against the West Londoners.

West Ham United v Newcastle United

This is a match between two teams going in opposite directions.

West Ham are unbeaten in three in the league, while Newcastle have lost eight of their last nine, including their last four in a row.

The Hammers are 11/10 to claim all three points.

However, we think it could be worth backing the East Londoners to win 1-0.

Their opponents have lost their last two by that margin and will find it difficult at the London Stadium.

You can back it at a tasty 11/2.

Burnley v Tottenham Hotspur

The last thing an out-of-form Tottenham need right now is a trip to high-on-confidence Burnley.

Sean Dyche’s Clarets are masters of the clean sheet and will likely make it tough for misfiring Spurs.

In what should be a tight match, Under 1.5 Goals should land for the third time in a row at 21/10.

And given the Lancashire side’s recent good form, who would back against them nicking this contest as well?

They’re a hefty 6/1 to pick up victory, while it’s 10/1 that they Win to Nil.

Leicester City v Manchester United

There’s a rare treat on Saturday night as Leicester host Manchester United in a 19:45 kick-off.

Jose Mourinho’s men have looked sluggish of late and may struggle against a Foxes side high on intensity.

It’s 4/5 that both teams find the back of the net for the third time in four meetings at the King Power Stadium.

However, we also like the look of Jamie Vardy to exploit United’s defensive weaknesses and break the deadlock at 11/2.

Leicester are 13/4 to win the contest, with the draw at 5/2 and United priced at 5/6.
