Birmingham v Wolves: Visitors to romp to victory in Midlands Derby

Published:

There’s a fiery West Midlands Derby in store this evening as Birmingham City host Wolverhampton Wanderers at St Andrew’s.

While neither set of players will want to give away an inch on the pitch, we think that the hosts could well be giving away a few goals to the Championship high-fliers.

Wolves are top of the league on 44 points and have won their last five games in all competitions.

That form sees them installed as the 3/4 favourites for the match, with Birmingham priced at a lengthy 19/5. You can back the draw at 5/2.

With the visitors so free-scoring at the moment, we’re expecting there to be goals.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have scored two or more in 14 of their 21 games so far this season. In their last two games alone, they’ve found the back of the net an incredible nine times.

It’s 19/20 for there to be two or more Wolves goals in the game or 3/1 for the visitors to bag 3+ times.

And with the net likely to bulge, Over 2.5 Goals looks like a safe bet at 21/20.

You can extend that market and get a bit more for your money if you’re tempted by Wolves to Win and Over 3.5 Goals at 9/2.

But who exactly is going to put the ball in the back of the net?

Well, Ivan Cavaleiro has scored four goals in his last three games. He’s on six for the season and is 19/10 to continue that run Anytime.

Fellow front-man Leo Bonatini is the Championship’s second top-scorer and is rated as a tempting 7/2 chance to Score First.

For the hosts, youngster Che Adams has shouldered the responsibility in front of goal.

The ex-Sheffield United man has bagged five in the league so far this season. He’s 13/5 to add to that tally this evening.
