Arsenal v Man United: Expect Mourinho to frustrate Wenger

Published:

The game of the Premier League this weekend comes from north London as old rivals Arsenal and Manchester United meet once more.

Arsenal have quietly gone about their business really well of late, and the Gunners will be full of confidence for the match.

Our odds have the hosts at 29/20, with Man United 9/5 and the draw at 9/4.

Saturday evening’s encounter sees Arsene Wenger pitch up opposite Jose Mourinho, and the two have come to blows several times down the years.

A title-deciding fixture for a good decade or more, Manchester City’s dominance this term does take the edge of this a touch.

And Mourinho’s tactics will also serve to douse the flames of this former epic clash.

The Portuguese boss loves playing for a draw when it comes to trips versus top-six opposition.

United have scored just one goal in their last eight visits to the established big-six. It’s the Jose way.

So plenty will be fancying another point-apiece at that 9/4 price. While under 2.5 goals is 20/23.

Arsenal are certainly worth considering. Wenger’s men have won their last 12 league games at the Emirates and fully deserved to beat Tottenham Hotspur when they visited last month.

Plus, the Red Devils have failed to win four of their last five league visits to Arsenal. They lost 2-0 last season and 3-0 the year before that.

The 17/5 on Arsenal to win to nil is likely to prove popular.

There’s no Alexandre Lacazette this weekend, but Alexis Sanchez is always ready and willing to step up.

The Chilean was excellent in the 5-0 thrashing of Huddersfield Town, and is 9/2 to score first.

United will be hoping Romelu Lukaku can rediscover his scoring boots. The Belgian has netted just once in his last seven league games.

Lukaku sits alongside Sanchez at joint 9/2 favourite to break the deadlock.
