Wimbledon v Peterborough Utd: Goals at a premium in South London

With the international break putting pay to the schedule in the Premier League, we turn our attention this Sunday to AFC Wimbledon v Peterborough United in League One.

These are two sides that will be looking to use this game as a springboard to some positive form.

The hosts have lost three of their last four in all competitions, while visiting Posh have only won two games in nine.

Form away from home has proved something of an issue for United so far this season. In-fact you have to go back to late August to find the last time Grant McCann’s side picked up all three points on the road in the league.

For that reason, it’s Wimbledon who are the favourites at 29/20. Peterborough are slightly longer at 7/4 for success, while the draw makes significant appeal at 12/5 between two out of form sides.

The Dons picked up a much needed success at home to Lincoln City in the Emirates FA Cup last weekend and will be hoping to build on that here.

Incredibly, 14 out of Wimbledon’s 20 games so far this season have seen at least one side fail to find the back of the net.

You can back Both Teams to Score – No at a more than tempting 13/10. And if you fancy doubling up on that market, you can get Wimbledon to Win to Nil at 15/4.

That said, what if both teams continue their poor form and play out a goalless draw? Last season’s encounter at Kingsmeadow finished 0-0 and it’s a hefty 12/1 for that scenario to play out again.

And with goals not expected in the contest, it may pay to have a look at the Half Time market.

In what should be a tight match-up, a Draw at Half Time is tantalising at 11/10.
