West Ham set to swoop for Brighton’s star defender Lewis Dunk

Brighton & Hove Albion defender Lewis Dunk could be on the move in January, if reports are to be believed.
According to the Daily Mirror, Dunk is the subject of significant interest from West Ham United.
New Hammers manager David Moyes wants to strengthen his defensive options and sees the 25-year-old Seagulls star as the ideal signing.
However, it looks as though the East Londoners will have to pay a pretty penny if they want to prize the 6ft 4in centre-half away from the Amex Stadium.
That’s because Dunk only signed a new five-year-deal on the South Coast in the summer.
With his contract set to run until 2022, Brighton boss Chris Hughton has the ability to command a serious fee for the highly-rated Dunk.
And that’s without any future England call-ups the impressive centre-half receives.
The Albion stalwart has not missed a minute in the Premier League so far this season and has helped his side keep a commendable four clean sheets in 11 matches.
By contrast, West Ham have conceded a league-high 23 goals since the start of the campaign.
Jose Fonte, Winston Reid and James Collins have all proved unreliable or injury prone and would benefit from the no-nonsense defensive approach typified by someone like Dunk.
For now though, the London Stadium side will have to do without one of Brighton’s star men.
