Odds slashed on Salah beating Kane and Lukaku to Golden Boot

Published:

Our traders have chopped the odds on Mohamed Salah winning this season’s Premier League Golden Boot.

The Egyptian hit goals number 11 and 12 last night, as the Liverpool ace hit a double in their 3-0 win over Stoke.

And with none of his goal-getting rivals finding the net in the midweek games, Salah is two goals clear in the striker race.

Having been a tasty 25/1 to win the accolade less than a month ago, the former Roma star is now just 9/2 to pick up the gong for the first time.

Harry Kane remains favourite at 2/1. The Tottenham Hotspur ace is on 10 for the campaign.

He’s scored almost half of Spurs’ 22 league goals this term, but could suffer if Mauricio Pochettino’s men can’t pull out of their recent slump.

Manchester City duo Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling are each on nine for the season.

Aguero is rated the far more likely Citizen to top score this season, with 7/2 saying the Argentine does so for the second time in his career.

Sterling, despite his impressive run of late, remains an outside chance at 20/1.

Former favourite Romelu Lukaku has drifted out to 7/1.

The Manchester United number nine has netted just once in his last seven Premier League appearances.

Chelsea’s Alvaro Morata sits alongside the Belgian at 7/1, and like Lukaku has scored eight times.

So too has Gabriel Jesus, but the 9/1 shot will do well to win this season with Man City sharing the goals among so many players.

Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette is 25/1, and is the only other player shorter than 50s.
