Justin Rose favourite to win season-ending World Tour in Dubai

Published:

The European Tour season comes to an end this week in the DP World Tour Championships in Dubai.

There’s two accolades to be won here.

All of this week’s entrants are looking to land the winner’s share of the £8m prize fund.

But Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Rose and Sergio Garcia are also aiming to win the Race to Dubai and end the year as Europe’s number one golfer.

Fleetwood leads the points rankings after a fine year for the man from Southport, but Rose poses a major threat and is favourite to win the tournament.

The South African-born Englishman has won his last two tournaments, including the WGC Champions in Shanghai.

He’s very much the form man, and is 6/1 favourite to win this weekend.

Rose is £200,000 behind Fleetwood in the standings, so victory would guarantee him the number one spot.

Spanish duo Jon Rahm and Masters champion Sergio Garcia are next up at 12/1.

Of the two, it’s worth backing Rahm over Garcia. Sergio’s season peaked long ago with that Augusta success.

Branden Grace could be one to watch. The 14/1 shot is on a high after winning the Nedbank Golf Challenge last time out.

Tyrrell Hatton sits alongside Grace at 14s. The 26-year-old has enjoyed a superb season, and his last seven European tour events has resulted in; T3, T8, 1, 1, T11, T16, T19.

And 16/1 fancy Matthew Fitzpatrick is another who could shine. The Englishman won this event 12 months ago.
