The FA Cup first round takes place this weekend, and it kicks off with the very realistic chance of a banana skin.

Hyde United host Milton Keynes Dons, and our traders make the Northern Premier League Division One North side 12/1 outsiders for a famous cupset.

The League One outfit are 2/9, with a draw priced up at 5/1.

And if there’s to be a cup surprise anywhere this weekend, then Hyde’s Ewen Fields is as good a location as any.

Darren Kelly has turned the Tigers into a superb team, and the Dons can only dream of boasting Hyde’s current form.

United are unbeaten in 20 league games and their success has been built on a rigid defence. Kelly, a former defender in his day, has seen his side concede just six league goals this season.

Robbie Neilson’s Dons may be 107 places further up the ladder, but an organised defence is always tough to break down.

Hyde have been defeated just twice in their last 34 across league and FA Cup, while MK are winless in five league matches.

A leaky Dons defence could be in trouble tonight. They’ve conceded 13 times in five games, being hit for four on two occasions.

The underdogs have cup momentum on their side too, having come through six clashes already this season.

They’ve seen off the likes of Warrington Town, Boston Town and Scarborough Athletic along the way.

And with the BBC cameras on, a packed Ewen Fields isn’t what the MK Dons need right now.

There’s great value in the Hyde/Draw double chance at 16/5.

The 28/1 on Hyde to win to nil is certainly worth considering too.

Both Lincoln City and Sutton United showed last season what team spirit, morale and an hard-working approach can do.

Hyde have the form and they’re playing in front of a sell-out crowd. So don’t be surprised if the Tigers inspire a produce a little bit of cup magic tonight.
