Brighton v Stoke: Seagulls to soar towards another home win

Brighton & Hove Albion play host to Stoke City this evening in what should be a tight Monday night match-up.

After a slow start in their maiden Premier League season, Chris Hughton’s side appear to have finally hit their stride.

Two wins in a four-game unbeaten spell prior to the international break put the South Coast club in a comfortable mid-table position.

And up against a Stoke side who have only managed two wins in their last 10, we think the hosts should continue that good form this evening.

Hughton’s men are 13/10 to take all three points, while Mark Hughes’ side are 9/4 for the seaside spoils. You can back the draw at 2/1.

Regardless of the result, we’re not anticipating too many goals at the Amex Stadium.

Five of Brighton’s six home games so far this season have seen two goals or fewer.

But what Stoke’s poor defensive record we hear you ask. Well, seven of the fifteen goals they’ve conceded in the Premier League came against a rampant Manchester City side.

Remove those from the equation and the Staffordshire side’s record at the back doesn’t look too bad.

Taking all of that into account –along with the fact neither of these two have particularly prolific goalscorers – we think Under 2.5 Goals looks good at 4/7.

And with the hosts tipped to take home all three points, why not double up on that market?

You can get Brighton to Win and Under 2.5 Goals at 13/4.

However, if there are going to be goalscorers, then we think Glenn Murray and Peter Crouch are the most likely pair.

Murray, in particular, has shone of late. The veteran forward has snagged four goals in his last three appearances and is rated as a 19/10 chance to net Anytime. It’s 5/1 that he bags first.

For the Potters, Crouch is loving life off the bench. Like his Seagulls counterpart, the 6ft 7in ace has netted four goals this season. He’s 23/10 to score in the Anytime market and 6/1 to plunder eithethe First or Last goal of the game.

Finally, we’re taking a look at the Correct Score betting.

With a tight game expected, the top tip tonight is to get on Brighton to edge this contest 1-0 at 11/2.
