Best bets for Man United, Chelsea & Celtic in Wednesday’s UCL

Man United odds

Things are looking good for the three British sides in Champions League action on Wednesday night.

Manchester United have already booked safe passage to the Round of 16, and will be confirmed as Group A winners with a point tomorrow night.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are also on course for the knockouts, and Celtic look likely to continue their continental adventure in the Europa League with a third-placed finish.

Here are our top tips ahead of Wednesday’s UCL action…

FC Basel v Man United

Jose Mourinho’s men have made light work of a relatively early group so far, winning all four games. In the process, they’ve scored 10 times and conceded just once.

They had few problems against Basel in the reverse fixture, breezing to a 3-0 victory at Old Trafford. The Premier League heavyweights are 19/20 to win in Switzerland, though we prefer Man United to Win to Nil at 11/5.

A repeat of that 3-0 scoreline in the Red Devils’ favour looks a lively longshot at 16/1.

Paul Pogba’s magnificent return from injury against Newcastle United on Saturday saw the Frenchman bag a goal along the way. He’s now netted in three of his last six club outings, and looks good value to Score Anytime at 5/2.

Qarabag v Chelsea

The Azeri outfit have been surprisingly competitive in their other UCL games, but suffered a 6-0 tonking at Stamford Bridge on Matchday One. And they head into this game against a Blues side who’ve won six of their last eight on the road.

Antonio Conte’s men won 4-0 at West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, and look good value to Win Both Halves again in Baku at 2/1. We also like the look of the Chelsea -2 handicap at odds of 12/5.

Eden Hazard could do the damage, following eight goals in nine games for club and country. That run has included three doubles. He’s 6/4 to register anytime, and 7/1 to bag two or more goals.

Paris Saint-Germain v Celtic

Brendan Rodgers’ men produced a spirited and skilful display against Bayern Munich on Matchday Four, and were unlucky to lose 2-1. And we expect the Hoops to offer competitive opposition to PSG at Park Des Princes.

The Glasgow giants produced a second-half equaliser against Der FCB before eventually succumbing to defeat. Celtic have scored eight second-half goals in six games ahead of this clash, so Both Teams to Score in Second Half looks good at 2/1.

A point may be beyond the Hoops, but they’re unlikely to lose heavily. The Celtic +3 handicap looks a solid bet at 11/10, while we like the talented Callum McGregor to add to his season’s tally of seven goals at 4/1.
