Sam Allardyce into 4/1 for Everton job as Unsworth remains favourite

Published:

David Unsworth is still the most likely man to fill the vacant manager’s role at Everton, according to our latest odds.

Toffees caretaker Unsworth remains the 2/1 favourite to take the job on a permanent basis despite the Blues’ 2-0 defeat to Leicester City at the weekend.

Sean Dyche remains a close second-favourite in the market at 3/1, while Thomas Tuchel and Marco Silva are 4/1 chances.

Joining those two as a 4/1 shot is ex-England manager Sam Allardyce.

His odds of taking over at Goodison Park have been slashed in from 10/1 last week and it now looks as though the out-of-work boss could be tempted back into the game by the vacant role on Merseyside.

Meanwhile, the chances of David Moyes returning to Everton appear increasingly unlikely.

After being installed as the 3/1 favourite for the job last Monday, the Scotsman is now a lengthy 8/1 in the market for a Goodison reunion.

Elsewhere, you can get 12/1 on Carlo Ancelotti rocking up on Merseyside, while it’s an equally chunky 16/1 that Paulo Fonseca makes the switch from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Five men are currently 4/1 or shorter for the Everton post, which tells us the race for the hot seat is still wide open. But as things stand, Unsworth continues to lead the way, although Big Sam is beginning to creep up on the leading pack.”
