Odds say Lukaku and Kane in two-horse race for Golden Boot

Published:

Romelu Lukaku and Harry Kane are in a personal duel for this season’s Premier League Golden Boot award.

That’s according to our traders, who have released their latest prices following another thrilling weekend of football.

Kane bagged two in Tottenham Hotspur’s 4-0 win over Huddersfield Town, while Lukaku netted Manchester United’s final goal as they defeated Crystal Palace by the same scoreline.

It was England international Kane’s third brace of the month, taking him on to six league goals for the season.  He also netted five times in the Champions League last month too.

Kane still trails Lukaku by one in the Premier League goal race, but our traders make Tottenham’s number 10 13/8 favourite.

Jose Mourinho’s Belgian hotshot is 12/5 in the betting, and currently leads the standings with seven goals.

The duo are now a sizeable way ahead according to the odds.

Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero has drifted from 3/1 to 8/1. The Argentine is set to miss several weeks of the campaign after suffering a broken rib in a car crash while in Amsterdam.

His team-mate Gabriel Jesus is now third-favourite at 7/1.

Chelsea’s title hopes have been dealt a blow, with the news that Alvaro Morata has a hamstring injury.

The Spaniard has enjoyed a blistering start to life in West London, scoring six league goals. But Morata is now set to miss one-to-two months, and he remains out at 9/1.

Alexandre Lacazette has been the big mover of recent weeks.  The Arsenal ace is on four for the campaign, and his odds have come in accordingly from 20/1 to 12s.

Jamie Vardy’s odds have drifted from 20s to 25s, alongside Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez is 33/1.
