O’Brien’s Saxon Warrior cut into 8/1 for 2018 Epsom Derby success

The 2018 Epsom Derby may be a speck on the horizon but already we’ve seen significant support come in for Saxon Warrior.

Aidan O’Brien’s charge is two from two so far and has been cut into 8/1 from 10/1 for Derby glory.

The Irish trainer is going for a second consecutive win in the Classic after landing last year’s prize with Wings of Eagles.

In total, the 47-year-old has won four of the last six stagings of the event.

With those statistics in mind, 10/1 shot The Pentagon must also be taken into consideration.

Why? Well the two-year-old is another O’Brien runner.

On top of that, he already has black-type success to his name after landing the Group 3 Tyros Stakes earlier this year.

And on that basis, he must be respected.

Amedeo Modigliani and Gustav Klimt both come next at 12/1, with Roaring Lion completing the early main contenders at odds of 20/1.
