Motherwell striker Louis Moult has won the Ladbrokes Premiership Player of the Month award for September.

The 25-year-old netted three times for the Steelmen during the month, a total none of his striking rivals could top. His contributions saw the Lanarkshire outfit end September in fifth place, with a four-point gap over the bottom six.

Not only did Moult rack up the goals, but the former Nuneaton Town man produced the goods at vital moments.

He scored twice as the Well came from 2-0 down to take a point against in-form Hibernian at Easter Road.

In addition to that, he netted to wrap up the home victory over Kilmarnock (2-0), as well as setting up Peter Hartley’s opener against Partick Thistle last time out.

The Stoke-on-Trent native was in similarly strong form on League Cup duty, bagging a goal in the Steelmen’s 3-0 rout of Aberdeen at Fir Park.

Having chalked up 15 Premiership goals in each of the last two campaigns, Moult could be on the way to topping that total with five already this term.

Next up for Motherwell is a visit to Lanarkshire rivals Hamilton Academical. The away side are 29/20 for a third win in four trips to New Douglas Park.

Moult has bagged seven goals in his six meetings against Accies, and looks well priced in the Anytime Scorer market at 6/5.
