Man United v Tottenham: Honours likely to be even at Old Trafford

The Premier League actions starts with a huge game this weekend as Manchester United host Tottenham Hotspur in Saturday’s early kick-off.

The two clubs are level on 20 points, five behind league-leaders Manchester City. The winner would land a significant blow on a potential title rival.

We make United 23/20 favourites, with Tottenham 12/5 to claim only their second win at Old Trafford since 1979.

But we think there’s real value in the draw at 9/4. United have won all of their league games at home this season. And Spurs have won every top-flight game on the road.

Mourinho was furious with his side following their shock 2-1 defeat at Huddersfield Town last weekend. Against a team of Tottenham’s quality, he’s likely to be cautious and look to snatch a win on the counter.

The last two matches between these two at Old Trafford have ended in 1-0 wins to United. We can’t see there being too many goals this time round either. Under 2.5 Goals could be a safe shout at 8/11.

Both sides have looked solid at the back. Chances could be at a premium. And Harry Kane will be a huge miss for Spurs.

Kane is the division’s top scorer with eight goals so far. United’s Romelu Lukaku is only one goal behind him with seven in the league. The Belgium international looks tempting at 10/3 as First Goalscorer.
