Man City and Man United in battle for English MLS star Harrison

Local rivals Manchester City and Manchester United are set to battle it out for England’s latest MLS star.
New York City FC’s Jack Harrison has been a Stateside hit this season.
The 20-year-old has netted 10 times for Patrick Vieira’s side, while supplying three assists.
His form has been rewarded with a call-up to the England U21 team, and Harrison even paid for his own flight across the Atlantic in order to join up with Aidy Boothroyd’s team.
And according to the Sun, both Manchester clubs are keen on the winger.
This is no ordinary transfer battle though. Harrison was a part of United’s academy, until he quit the Red Devils six years ago.
The Stoke native chanced his arm in America, joining the Berkshire School in Massachusetts. Harrison then spent three years with the Manhattan Soccer Club – a New York City affiliate.
And now a part of the Abu Dhabi Group’s football enterprise at New York, it’s Man City who have the upper hand over their near neighbours.
Harrison joined New York in 2016, and quickly showed his ability with four goals and seven MLS assists.
This season he’s shown a more clinical side to his game, scoring twice as many times.
Both City and United will be hoping to add Harrison to their array of young attacking talent.
Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane and Gabriel Jesus are the next generation of City aces. Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku are set to do likewise for United.
