Liverpool v Man United: Value in Red Devils edging it at Anfield

The biggest game in English football returns on Saturday, as Manchester United head to Liverpool. And the signs suggest the Red Devils could continue their good record at Anfield with another three points.

United have won on four of their last seven visits to this side of Merseyside, and head into this game in outstanding form. Unbeaten in all competitions this term, they’ve scored an eye-catching 17 goals in their last four outings.

Things are decidedly less cheery for Jurgen Klopp’s men. Despite scoring in 10 of their 12 games this season, they’ve only won once since the end of August.

That means Man United to Win and Both Teams to Score looks a smart bet at 19/5, while a simple BTTS looks a safe selection at 7/10.

However, if you’re looking for a plausible longshot, a 2-1 win for United at 17/2 could be just the ticket. The Old Trafford outfit have beaten Liverpool by that scoreline four times since the start of 2012.

One man who looks good value in the goalscorer markets is Anthony Martial. The Frenchman has registered in five of his nine outings this term, and has netted twice against the Reds in past meetings. He’s 23/10 in the Anytime Scorer market.

Finally, we’re tipping up a slightly niche bet which could well pay out in style.

The Red Devils have scored in the opening five minutes during four of their last five matches. With leaky Liverpool failing to keep a clean sheet in seven games, the 8/1 for Man United to score in the opening 10 minutes could be a great call.

In the match betting, Klopp’s men are 17/10 for victory, with United 31/20 and the draw priced up at 23/10.
