After a desperately unlucky stint of injuries in the past two years, Liverpool’s Danny Ings is finally back to fitness. And Crystal Palace think he could be the answer to their goalscoring woes.

The player had been linked with loan moves to the likes of Newcastle United and Southampton in recent days, but it’s the Eagles who are now believed to be frontrunners.

Roy Hodgson’s men are desperately in need of a goalscorer. Having failed to net in eight of their nine Premier League games this term, the Eagles were also dumped out of the Carabao Cup 4-1 at Championship Bristol City last night.

Provided he can retain his fitness, Ings would surely offer a boost for the beleaguered South London club.

The 25-year-old hit double figures for Burnley in the Premier League in 2014-15, while he netted 21 times in the Championship during the season before.

However, with Liverpool boasting an impressive array of striking options, his first-team chances have been limited to a cameo in last month’s Carabao Cup game at Leicester City.

With the Eagles reportedly open to a permanent deal for the Winchester native, they could well prove the most attractive buyer to both club and player.

On paper at least, this would look to be a move that suits both parties.

Next up for Crystal Palace is the visit of West Ham United to Selhurst Park. The hosts are 27/20 to secure a much-needed victory against their London rivals.
