Allardyce 7/2 favourite for Leicester job – Dyche 5/1, Lineker 100/1

Sam Allardyce odds

Sam Allardyce is the early favourite to claim the vacant Leicester City post.

They may be everyone’s favourite underdog, but the East Midlands outfit are on the lookout for a new manager after sacking Craig Shakespeare.

The Foxes showed their ruthless streak once again, after they parted company with Premier League-winning hero Claudio Ranieri last season.

And our traders make former Bolton Wanderers, Newcastle United and England boss Allardyce the 7/2 favourite.

Big Sam is renowned for his ability to haul clubs away from danger, and he did just that with Crystal Palace last term.

The Foxes currently sit 18th in the table after a difficult start to the season.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche is 5/1. The former defender is from Kettering, just 25 miles down the road from Leicester.

But while the chance to return home may appeal, it would surprise many to see Dyche quit the Clarets with the Turf Moor outfit going so well in the league.

A trio of names come next at 8/1, and they couldn’t be more different.

Carlo Ancelotti has worked with some of the biggest clubs in the game. He’s a free agent having been sacked by Bayern Munich earlier this month.

The Italian has Premier League experience thanks to a two-year stint at Chelsea – and won the title with the Blues in 2010.

But are Leicester a big enough club to land the former Juventus, AC Milan and Real Madrid boss?

Chris Coleman could certainly be an option, also at 8/1. The Wales boss saw his side fail to reach the 2018 World Cup a week ago, and may now be considering a return to club management.

Michael Appleton is also in the frame. The former Portsmouth boss is currently Leicester’s assistant manager, and has been handed the reigns on a temporary basis.

Having rebuilt his career with an excellent three-year stint at Oxford, Appleton may yet land the gig permanently.

Roberto Mancini (a Leicester City player for a brief spell in 2001) and Thomas Tuchel are both 10/1 shots.

Former Foxes hero Martin O’Neill is 16/1, as is the man who got them into the Premier League, Nigel Pearson.

And speaking of former Leicester favourites, Gary Lineker is 100/1
