They’ve been the subject of intense transfer speculation all summer.
But in the end neither Virgil van Dijk nor Alexis Sanchez departed from Southampton or Arsenal respectively.
Sanchez almost swapped the Emirates for the Etihad on Deadline Day but a deal could not be brokered in time.
Manchester City may have missed out on their target this summer but they’re as short as 2/1 to sign the Chilean next summer instead.
Our traders are confident a move will happen, especially given the attacker’s contract situation in North London.
Meanwhile, Virgil van Dijk didn’t get his dream move during this transfer window, but he’s just 2/1 to swap Southampton for Liverpool next year.
The saga dragged on throughout the window with van Dijk as short as 1/8 to make the switch earlier in the summer.
But as the clock ticked down a move failed to materialise.
Expect the Reds to come back in for the Dutchman at the end of the current season.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Deadline Day has passed, but that hasn’t stopped our traders pricing up potential moves for the ones that couldn’t get away this time around.”
