Ronald Koeman favourite for Mersey chop before rival Jurgen Klopp

The sack race is hotting up on Merseyside, with Ronald Koeman and Jurgen Klopp both being priced up for an exit from their respective clubs.

Both sides have failed to hit the ground running and at 12/1 we’re not ruling out a shock double exit for Klopp and Koeman between now and May.

However, it’s Everton boss Koeman who is early favourite for the chop.

The Dutchman is 9/2 to depart the Toffees before the end of the season and 2/9 to leave the Blues hotseat before Klopp exits the Reds.

You can get 3/1 on the German leaving his job first, while it’s 9/2 that the ex-Borussia Dortmund coach is not in the Anfield dugout at the end of the season.

With pressure mounting on both the Reds and the Blues, who will crack first?

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Expectations were high on Merseyside this summer, but with both clubs struggling to mount serious domestic challenges, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Klopp AND Koeman pay the price between now and the end of the campaign.”
