Portsmouth v Rotherham: Hosts to get back to winning ways at home

Fratton Park - Portsmouth

Portsmouth entertain Rotherham United at Fratton Park this afternoon looking to improve on an inconsistent start to the season.

Pompey have taken five points from their opening four games and sit firmly in mid-table.

Meanwhile, visitors Rotherham are without victory since a 5-0 trouncing of Southend United almost a month ago.

The Millers will not relish a trip to the South Coast against a Pompey side who are notoriously difficult to beat on home soil.

Kenny Jackett’s side have not lost at home in six months since a 1-0 reverse to Crewe Alexandra in March.

As a result they’re a handy price at Evens to walk away with all three points. The draw is 12/5 while the visitors are 13/5 to take the spoils.

What is certain is that both teams like to score goals.

Both Teams to Score has landed in four games so far this season for both Pompey and Rotherham.

At 7/10 we think it’s going to land again here.

And if both teams are going to score we don’t think it’s entirely crazy to suggest that both teams are going to need goalscorers.

For the hosts that could well come in the form of new signing Oliver Hawkins.

The 6ft 4in man signed on Deadline Day from Dagenham & Redbridge where he scored 19 goals last season.

He’s 2/1 to score Anytime this afternoon.

Britt Pittman is more likely to start however, making his odds of 7/5 to net look very appealing.

The visitors will be looking towards 9/5 shot Kieffer Moore to get on the scoresheet.

With goals expected in this encounter we’re also looking towards the Over/ Under market.

Rotherham’s away form isn’t great and they tend to ship goals on the road, which makes the 17/20 on Over 2.5 Goals a handy shout.

They’ve also lost their last two on their travels 2-1 and it’s 15/2 for a repeat scoreline this time around.
