Latest odds suggest Costa’s Chelsea stint may not be over yet

Despite Diego Costa’s exit from Chelsea looking a mere formality for much of the summer, the latest odds now suggest that it might not be all over for the Spaniard at Stamford Bridge.

The surly striker has spent the entire summer in Brazil, and had been priced as short as 1/20 to end his association with the Blues during the summer.

However, there’s been a serious shift in the odds, with the 28-year-old now just 4/1 to play for Chelsea in the Premier League this season.

With the striker having chalked up 58 goals in 120 outings for the West London club, helping lead them to two league titles, a reunion of club and player appears to make sense. More importantly, it now also looks plausible.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “It’s something we never thought we’d be pricing up, but with peace talks apparently taking place and calls for a return to the first-team from other players – we wouldn’t be surprised to see Costa in a Chelsea shirt again.”

Next up for Chelsea is a visit to Leicester City on Saturday. The Blues are 3/4 for victory in the East Midlands.

Who knows, they could be spurred on at the King Power Stadium by the return of a certain Mr. Costa.
